Maria Miller, MP for Basingstoke has welcomed Borough Councils support for local businesses who are not eligible for other government funding as they safely reopen following the easing of COVID restrictions.
A new element of the Additional Restrictions Grant Scheme will provide one-off grants to businesses who have business premises but are not eligible for other funding such as Restart Grants that only apply to businesses that pay business rates.Businesses eligible for this new grant include non-essential retail businesses with grants of up to £6,000 and hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym premises with grants of up to £9,000, dependant on their overhead costs.
Maria said, “Basingstoke’s Borough Council has provided vital financial support for businesses that were affected by COVID-19 restrictions.
“Schemes such as Local Restrictions Grant play a crucial part of the Government’s response to COVID and I welcome this additional funding made available by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to support our local businesses. I urge all eligible businesses to apply.”
In addition, one-off grants of up to £2,500 will be available for taxi businesses.
Both grant schemes will run until Friday 14 May but may close sooner due to limited funding.
