Maria Miller MP visited Basingstoke based Apprenticeship Provider ITEC.
ITEC can provide Apprenticeships at any point in the year. Many requests for help come from Young People in the town who need help starting their career path. ITEC receive regular requests from learners who have decided against college, have learning difficulties or are on the Autistic Spectrum. ITEC also work closely with 'Start ups' or SMEs who want to take on new staff and like the idea of developing their staff through apprenticeships.
Maria met with Barry Kitcher Business Developer and Michele Pedder, Contract and funding Manager, and discussed ITEC’s role within the Basingstoke community and possibilities for development and growth.
Maria commented; “I was very impressed with my visit to ITEC and was delighted to see the support offered to young people needing help with career choices and development. It was striking that ITEC offers Apprenticeships throughout the year which benefits those who have been uncertain about career paths and have had difficulty finding the appropriate courses.”
